SOAP ON A ROPE
Hi everyone!!  I was soooo enjoying Oonga's blogs
until she gave me a direct hint that it was my turn to blog.
I purchased some glycerin soap for crafts awhile back as I had always
wanted to play with it.

From a certain store, no promoting, I bought this cheap
plastic mold that I knew I would use someday.

I just heated small chunks in the microwave in a glass
jar and melted the glycerin soap base, added coloring, scent and
voila!  Instant soap gifts!

So you know the small toys you get for your kids in the
vending machines while shopping (cause at the time the kids just have to
have them)?   You take them home and pick them up FOREVER,  until you throw
them out.  Here they are recycled!

The kids will smell clean while trying to get
their toy again! Should be good for their
stockings at Christmas time!!

I Party With

The Gift Of Green

Hey flower lovers!  Need some color and scent through the winter months?  I sure do.  Last year I purchased some bulbs and forced them through the winter.  It was past due to start the growing season again.  I scrounged an old metal container from my pile, downloaded some awesome pics from The Graphics Fairy, and modge-podged them to each side.

  I got out the roll of plastic, and trimmed enough off to line the container.  I filled the container with gravel.

  Next, I trimmed off the plastic and  sealed the edge of the plastic to the container with foil tape.

I tied a bow on it for pretties and will keep this for the winter.

The rest of the bulbs are going to be gifts.  I grabbed some tea light holders from my "pile" and removed the candle inserts.

I washed the gravel (no I didn't...it was all dirty and got the glass all dirty)   So I washed the gravel, carefully poured it into the glass holders, and pushed the bulb half way down.  Fill water to the top of the gravel.

  As the roots get established, water will have to be kept to the bottom of the bulb.   (If this doesn't work, I can blame Bessy Boo hehe!)    Make pretty with a bow and that's the gift of green!

Copycat Snowmen

Welcome back!  I was so inspired a few days ago when I saw some awesome snowmen by Laurie Furnell Designs.  I immediately downloaded the free gift that Aimee Asher CLICK HERE  generously put out to all blog readers.  I joined her site and am very excited to see all of her wonderful creations.  

Counting all my nieces and nephews on one hand is impossible.  I would need more than four hands.   Christmas can be very challenging, and as I love them all, I like to give them a little something.  This was a life saver as I came across Aimee Ashers' site here.  I bought a case of popcorn and other supplies, and got to work.

I printed Aimee Ashers snowman freebie onto photo paper.  Trim off the excess at the black lines.   Place the popcorn in the paper, fold it around, and tape the back. 

I cut my plaid scarves into many plaid scarves.  Cut each scarf about 1 1/2 inches wide.

Tie the scarf around the snowman....careful you don't want to choke the little guy.  I put one stretchy glove on my hand and then put the other one on top, so that they get a pair of gloves out of the deal.  This becomes the hat.

Grab some ribbon from your stash and tie the toque.  

I made 32 of them.  A few extra for friends!
